Popped a couple grouper cherries this morning and these two are going home with plenty of dinner! Troll bite was a slow pick, one mahi mahi, so we beat up the bottom and got grouper, snapper, triggers and grunts!

Not much of a troll bite for us yesterday, but this crowd had a BLAST jacking up big groupers, and amberjacks sending live bait to the bottom on the edge of the continental shelf!

7 Atlantic Bonito and Yellowfin Tuna fish caught in NC

Great Atlantic Bonito fishing continues as the water temp is holding in the low 60s nearshore. This walk on trip was one of the best bites I've seen in a long time! We got close to 90 fish in just 5 hours trolling within 8 miles of shore! All target species, not seeing much bi catch right now, but as the water warms up we will transition into Spanish mackerel and king mackerel fishing on our half days, then live bait fishing for cobia, king mackerel and amberjack! 
Grouper season starts may 1st and we are super excited for that as well!

Sad to see the ole girl go! But she's being picked up today by her new owner, and we have decided to move out to Colorado to start a farm! This was a last minute decision but we look forward to what the future holds in store for us.

First mate Zachary Foster decided to do some exploratory research to see if the grouper were hungry yesterday on our commercial trip! And they were. 
We released this big girl, but may 1st grouper season opens, And we will be targeting them all summer!
